tom's shop smells really good
chris's first san franciscan meal. (i had a really fancy hot-dog-sandwich)
awesome bagel place with a great sense of humor that we found for breakfast. they have a big mural inside with a fusion of the starship enterprise and a bagel
crazy hills alllll over the place!
cold weather clothes
every house that we saw during our stay was super pretty
chris found this :)
the fog makes some parts of sf look eerie as hell
me in a GIANT kinokuniya stationery store. i was overwhelmed by the sheer amount of awesome all around me
cute maneki neko that chris found in a japanese sweets shop
bubble tea bliss!
found a hardware store in japantown
it had all sorts of nifty stuff
after a delicious japanese fondue lunch with cynthia
golden gate bridge! later learned that the 'golden' references the gold rush, not the actual color.
:D :D :D
the infamous haight street. super hippied out, but i found a great (and inexpensive!) canvas bag with TONS OF POCKETS at a military surplus store.
san francisco ♥ motorcyclists and chris was elated. saw these guys outside the exploratorium
way more intense than liberty science center, this place (and the sheer amount of children) actually wore us out.
where they build the exhibits
demonstrations + explanations + chris's really comprehensive understanding of 'how shit works' = super educational day
simple psychological test: can you drink from a normal water fountain if it looks like a toilet? chris can.
sea lions being all cute and soft and sunning themselves
tonnnns of them
lunch at the sea lion cafe
fancy cupcakes at ghirardelli square
the now-furniture store where ginsberg first performed 'howl' live.
goodbye giant hotel room!
leaving san francisco
actually going over the bridge instead of looking at it
following tom through a scenic drive to breakfast + his place and taking a break
tom and cynthia's crazy awesome house.
really brittle flowers that come apart and fly away when you rub them
roads that go along a coast like this are pretty amazing. new jersey would make sure there were 50 fences, trees, telephone poles and wires and garbage between you and that water.
so relaxing
cynthia grows really cute succulents
bloomed and darker version of the above plant
lizard! in their backyard!
...and one of a few cats, two really cute dogs...
and horses!
this one was a bit smaller than the others and very friendly
i think we were bringing our stuff into the guest tower
route 1! chris felt physical pain every time someone went by on a motorcycle and it wasn't himself
stopping for hats / visors / keep hair out of face devices. distracted by these adorable shop dogs!
also grabbed lunch. not this, but delicious sandwiches beyond this counter
color palette of california
so much space
cheeky sign at a gas station
chris meets the pacific ocean
timeline of a redwood tree
walking through a redwood forest. first time experiencing a really soft ground
redwood warriors
walking through a little park in napa
at the airport waiting to board
watching a sunset on a plane is amazing. goodbye, california
